Ragnarok Valkyrie Uprising Themis' FS/Support Priest/Battle Acolyte Guide

This shall serve as a guide for those who intend to take the path of the Acolyte but want to eliminate the restrictions a full support build can bring. This may or may not be best utilized by those who are restricted by their game times due to real life stuff thus wanting to maximize game time when online, hence soloing pre-Priest and taking a Support Role as Priest ( since its the only build appropriate at the moment)

Note: THIS IS A GUIDE. PLAYING STYLE WILL DIFFER FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL AND EACH INDIVIDUAL HAS THEIR OWN UNIQUE WAY OF TAKING ON THE GAME. IT HAS BEEN MADE USING MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND PLAYING STYLE. PLEASE READ IT THOROUGHLY BEFORE DECIDING TO GO THROUGH FOLLOWING THE BUILD AND REGRETTING IT AFTER. JUST SAYING THIS CAUSE IT SEEMS LIKE PEOPLE DON'T BOTHER TO READ THE NOTE ON THE LAST PART SO I'M PUTTING THIS HERE.

Note: Again, this build may not suite everyone else's gaming preference but I'm sure would love the thought of having a more profound role in the party than just plain healing.

Status point building:

Based from the build guide by sero and Sassy, a battle acolyte utilizes 3 main stats:
STR
VIT
INT
Strength covers your normal attacks and also takes into account the damage of this build's bread and butter skill, Holy Hammer. Also is related to critical rate.
Vitality shall enable you to take in more hits while minimizing Heal or pot usage. Increases your maximum HP and also plays a role in damage reduction by certain %. Defense is still best to be focused when looking into damage reduction though.
Intelligence this stat covers your max SP pool and MATK. This stat is utilized by your Heal skill and if you take into account putting 1 point to Holy Light it also affects that skill's damage.
Distribution:

1. Starting out, I recommend to start building STR and VIT to enable you to cap VIT asap thus allowing you to work on your Int earlier. Cap your VIT around 15-20 at your own discretion or when you feel things are doing too much damage to you but personally I have it at 20 and can take a good amount of damage before I heal. Start adding to Int around level 20 when you start doing more VS quests and start doing Orc mobs but I do really recommend to start adding into this stat as soon as you can. Cap INT at 30 since coupled with 20 VIT and fairly good armors even Legendary Bigfoots will do around 150+ on you making you take 2 hits before healing. Keep adding STR as you go.

Note: Do this till you change job. Test out the waters if you like the build and that you are comfortable with it. So keep that stat reset in hand so if you want to change to Full Support after Priest you can.

2. Another way to distribute, which I did was to do STR and INT together while adding VIT as I go(Sassy). Testing whether you can take min/max damage is key to determine when you will want to add VIT. Still cap both VIT and INT respectively at 20 and 30 and put the rest of the points to STR.

Skill Building:
http://valkyrieupris...yte-skill-tree/ - refer for a quick look at the skill tree.

So this might be where my build deviates from other but I can say it won't really differ that much. So you will be focusing on 3 main active skills as a battle acolyte and those are:

Blessing - level 10
Holy Hammer - level 10
Heal - level 6

Optional:
Holy light - 1-5 or nothing

Distribution:
I personally mismatched mine since I went Holy Light early on but if I were to change it I would do it in this order:

mace mastery - level 5 unlock Holy Hammer
Holy Hammer - MAX asap
Heal - level 6
Blessing - MAX

After you end with Blessing you will be around Jlevel 33 so its up to you where you want to add your skill points before hitting priest. I personally would like to add Heal since it might get a lot harder later on with higher mobs.

Optional:
Remember I went with Holy Light first? After I got hammer I was regretting having holy light since its SP cost is big compared to hammer but it turns out I was able to utilize it as an emergency skill when I get mobbed. Aside from being used in emergencies, HL has greatly helped me on my way to Priesthood. With both HL and HH on your arsenal, you will be ripping legend mobs into shreds in no time. With 1.5x exp and manuals you will be gaining 30%+ tops on 300pcs SP pots and that usage is like 25-30 minutes grinding which I can say is heck a lot of fast doing alone. This is given that there are no other people in the spot you can pretty much clear everything up by yourself before it spawns again. lol

Other Skill Info:
You might notice that I didn't add points to Inc Agi and SP recovery. It is because you will be doing most of your damage from your hammer and that you will be using blue pots more than sitting down. The mspd is good but you can easily get a mount for 15 gold coins. Sure its good to move faster inside dgns but I never found it as a big need. Inc SP max regens for 33 which I don't find attractive lol. I only went with level 3 since it is needed to unlock Blessing.

Items:

For starters, I would greatly recommend crafting a VS morning star and mini angel when you can. These two gives great additional stats and is even useable till the end if you want to. Keep in mind however that if manage to find a better mace 25+ rank 4 S in auction then do get it if you can. It will decrease your additional MATK but will do good on your Hammer damage. The rest of the items are up to you but for me I personally have my VS items until now since I couldn't find anything else with a better stat.

Note: It is important that when you start looting green accessories to keep them and disassemble them so you can craft your VS acc. You will seldomly see god rings on the AH and the crafted one gives better stats.

Cards:

If you compund your own cards or are looking to buy one. Look for ones that:

Head - Add HP
Weapon - + ATK
Body - +def
Boots - Add HP
Accessory - Add HP
Manteau - Add ASPD
shield - neutral damage resistance

Note: I prefer building up on HP since the SP you get from 30 int is enough for your Hammer Heal combo.

Pets:

I would prefer going with pets that ADD ATK and STR. Refer to my pet list to look into it.

Leveling:
From 1-30 just follow through your quests and rep quests since they give good enough exp and zeny.

Updated:30+
From here on you can choose to level on legendary wolves and legendary bigfoots. Why? Coz they will hit much less than the VS/thorn mukas and they are fairly faster to kill. Though, I want to make this clear, If you want to farm go to Tmukas/VS since they drop weapons and greens and their ex point thorn sells for more than the animal skin and bear pad from the legendary mobs but if you want pure grind for exp go to legendary mobs.

Farming:
There's no arguing where to farm 30+. Its gonna be VS Thorn Mukas or regular thorn mukas for the drop quality (e.g 2hand weapon greens).

Upgrade Equipment farming:
Okay so this is a new addition to the guide. By level 35 or I assume even just 30+ you will have a good att 200+ and m.atk 200+ you can start farming for r.oridecons yourself on the 4th floor of Khoa Khoa. VVS Orcs and Dopple are your target. If you want, you can try the VS Orcs in area 3 but I haven't had a r.ori drop from them. Its 2k zeny per enter but hey r.ori sometimes sell for 5k each pc so its a good deal not to mention you may get some good drops from dopple.

I would have added Mino Mano Area 1 but the cost vs gain isn't worth it atm.

Daily Coin Quest:
With the build above, you will be able to solo almost all the coin quests including the advanced quests needing to kill VVS mobs. The mobs that you would most likely need to be in a party are the vvs orc hero and vvvs flora. The mobs in khoa are all solo-able including doppleganger. When doing daily quests with mobs in Khoa, be sure to utilize this opportunity to farm R.oridercons and R.eliums so clear vs/vvs orcs and all the vvs/vvvs mobs. You can do it.

Final Note:

As an Acolyte, people will have an assumption that you are there to support them. With this build though, you are self-sustaining and will be more of a use as a dps in a party (trust me you will kill faster than waiting to heal on 1h full vit swordies). Keep in mind however that there will be annoying people in the world that only sees you as a heal and buff slave. When mobbing and someone approaches you, take care of yourself first. It is good courtesy to cater to him/her after your mob if you can or if he hasn't started raging on you yet. In parties, make sure to inform them that you are not a support build as they will be raging on your little heals. You may often find it hard to find a good party that will allow you to dps than be a slave heal or there might be no party at all but still persist. This build is for you to get through those kind of times alone and to get you to Priesthood at a good pace.

Still you are an Acolyte, it is still your duty to support others so be courteous enough to reply to decline a heal or a buff if you can't but still if one calls out and you are available buff them and heal them.

"Paladin" (Support) Priest

From thine Valkyrie's call I arise, answering to thy heed.
For what I can't do and what I didn't do,
Bless me and my holy light.
To protect and serve, to shield and save.
So I answer to the call, with thy Paladin's Priestess light.
-Themis

At a crossroad you have now managed to cross and advance to the 2nd job as a Priest but with a battle build you will be limited by a lot of factors that will cause you inefficient if you just one from the other. This guide will only serve as a basis point for those who wishes to serve as a Paladin Priest ( my own name for this type).

First off, upon job advancement you will receive a flash stick to reset your skills with. You will also have an HP bonus increasing your HP to 2.5k+ ( depending on +HP cards and vit option). I recommend to use the flash stick together with the time capsule to reset your stats to better fit this build type.

Stat Distribution:

Paladin(Off tank)/Support Build:
Main stats to look into are :

-VIT
-INT

Full Support Build:

-INT INT INT INT INT INT INT :)

Vit - this will enable you to take a pseudo-paladin role at times when needed. Adding to this stat will also help you take advantage the damage reduction from Angelus (20% - from 100 base damage to 50-60 from legendary bigfoot). I recommend to get this stat at LEAST to 25-30 and not more than 40

Int - Your main stat, imbued with the holy light you will be healing 99% of the time as a Priest supporting others. After capping vit at a base point you are comfortable with, add all points here. (If you end up like me with base vit 25 you should have 53 points to base int)

- As an FS, all your points will be directed towards this stat. You can show off your heals in this manner, you will also be healing from a distance (duh) so you will be pretty much okay with Angelus on you and your super heal. lol

Skill Distribution:

Support Build:
At 35:

Heal - 10
Bless - 10
Angelus - 10
Resu - 2
Teleport - 3

At 40:

Heal - 10
Blessing - 10
Angelus - 10
Resurrection - 2
Teleport - 3
Holy light - 5
Inc SP recovery - 3
Cure - 2
(rest of points up to you)

At 40: (Full Support)
Everything from above except In SP,HL,Cure(Optional)

-Inc Agi - 10

Skills are really self explanatory. Some will want to cross with Holy Light since it will do a heck of damage now on this build but the recommended skills to put on first upon change job at 35 are the ones above. With 5 more points from 35-40 and an option to add 5 more from cash shop skill books, you can freely add this to cure and Holy Light.

At this point too for FS people, you will be most likely partying with Knights and most knights are still on 2h/aspd build and Inc agi adds around like 11/10 aspd on level 10. Not much but with quicken and cards it all adds up pretty well. Cure is also optional since it would depend if you will be partying on legend bigfoots and your wiz or knight might get Fear or something. So yeah that one totally depends on you.

Role:

Wonder why I used Paladin to name this build? It is because with this setup you can become an off-tank/lurer for your party. You will have enough capabilities to lure all VS thorn mukas, normal exit mobs to your wizards and still have a very comfortable time to heal yourself and prepare to support your members upon engaging. Your increased vit + 20% reduction from Angelus is very very important to you and your party especially when mobbing.

This kind of build will give you more capabilities when on a party without a tank. You should know by now too that when mobbing you have to use your mount or else the mobs will easily be able to catch you up.

Note: On VS TMukas, it is very important to properly position yourself and your wizard/party in such a way that when the mobs AOE they will be at an enough safe distance for you to cover and heal.

Full Support: There really isn't much to say since you will doing everything as usual. Heal and Buff.

Battle Priest: I for one am very looking forward to this build but as of now where you are limited to 40-45 skill points I don't really see it as much as viable as this build. Use this time to max your level as a support and look forward to this build when it will already be efficient. :)
